About The Position
This role involves assisting with various tasks in a nursery setting, including greenhouse construction and maintenance, plant handling, and cultural activities. The worker will be responsible for preparing and caring for plants, as well as operating small machinery.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with nursery work
- Willingness to learn and perform various plant care tasks
- Ability to operate small tractors and RTVs
Responsibilities
- Assist with greenhouse build/re-build
- Assist with greenhouse maintenance
- Pick/Pack plants
- Receive and lay down plants in grow houses
- Offload and load trailers with plant material
- Perform cultural activities including weeding, pruning, spacing, watering, and fertilizing plants
- Pot plants
- Perform seasonal pre-production activities including drilling/sticking cones and birch
- Operate small tractors and RTVs
