About The Position

This role involves providing care for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years in the nursery at Lindenwood Christian Church-Collierville for 2 hours per week. Responsibilities include managing diaper changes, nap times, safe play, and snack administration. The worker must maintain a 8/1 child-to-staff ratio, arrange for additional volunteers or fill in as needed, and has the first option to cover childcare needs outside of Sunday mornings. Communication with ministry staff regarding supply needs and incidents is also required. Children aged 3 and up should be encouraged to attend Young Hearths worship, and children over 5 are not permitted in the nursery without prior approval. The schedule requires being at Lindenwood by 8:45 AM on Sundays to prepare and staying until all children are picked up after worship, or 11:00 AM, whichever is later. If unable to work a scheduled Sunday, the worker must first attempt to find a substitute and then inform the ministry staff. A weekly check-in with ministry staff via text or email is expected to discuss supply needs or any occurrences.

Requirements

Ability to care for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years.
Proficiency in diaper changes, managing nap times, monitoring safe play, and administering snacks.
Ability to maintain a child-to-staff ratio of 8/1.
Willingness to find substitute workers or fill in when needed.
Availability on Sunday mornings from 8:45 AM until after worship (at least 11:00 AM).
Ability to communicate supply needs and report on incidents.
Understanding of age-appropriate nursery policies (e.g., encouraging older children to attend worship, restrictions for children over 5).
Reliability and ability to find substitutes when necessary.
Communication via text or email for weekly check-ins.
