(Leave Replacement) Nursery School Associate Teacher
About The Position
The Marlene Meyerson Jewish Community Center in Manhattan (MMJCCM) is seeking a Leave Replacement for a Nursery School Associate Teacher to join the Saul and Carole Zabar Nursery School. This Reggio-inspired, Jewish-values-based, child-centered school respects students as citizens with powerful ideas and voices. Teachers facilitate learning by working collaboratively with children as researchers, guiding and following the interests of the group. The school is inclusive and celebrates the developmental differences of each child, supporting each child's learning, connections, achievements, and points of view through documentation. Teachers partner with families to build a strong classroom and schoolwide community. Teachers are learners and leaders whose voices and ideas shape the school. The position reports to the Nursery School Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or in progress) in a related field
- Relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with various teaching teams
- Open to learning about the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy and Jewish values as they pertain to work with children
- Supporting teaching teams with observation and documentation
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director or Associate Director as needed
