About The Position

This role is for a Nursery Associate in Knoxville, TN. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and gardening, with a strong customer-service focus. Responsibilities include assisting customers, maintaining plant health, merchandising, stocking, and cashier duties. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs and working outdoors in various temperatures.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months-1 year of retail experience.
Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
Strong organizational skills with a passion for details.
Willing to learn all areas of the store and help train others.
A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
Availability must be flexible, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a high attention to detail.
Work outside in summer/winter temperatures.
Standing or walking during shift.
Lifting up to 50lbs.
Bending, pushing/pulling, etc.

Gardens experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with their garden or landscaping needs.
Tend to plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers.
Complete Cashier, Sales Associate, and Department Head duties as necessary.
Unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise.
Maintain assigned department: keep clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Execute daily operational goals and priorities.
Remove promotional bin tags from displays/price tags as required.
Restock merchandise displays as needed, watch end caps and side wings.
Handle special orders for all non-stock items.
Assist customers by checking with a manager when unable to fulfill a request directly.
Watch for shoplifters and act in line with company policy.
Respond to radio requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
