About The Position

If so, New Haven offers a unique and invaluable opportunity for you to join our team as a Registered Nurse! At New Haven, we go beyond the conventional residential treatment model. Located in the tranquil surroundings of Spanish Fork, Utah, our campus serves as both a treatment center and a nurturing home for adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 and their families. We specialize in addressing complex issues such as traumatic stress, family dynamics, and mental health nuances, providing comprehensive and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 21
  • Valid Utah driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Active LPN or RN license in Utah
  • Ability to pass a Utah State background check
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in medical terminology, charting, and medication administration
  • Skilled in using standard nursing tools and assessing physical conditions
  • Familiar with word processing software and basic network navigation
  • Willingness to receive professional feedback and pursue ongoing training
  • CAQH profile and NPI number required for credentialing

Nice To Haves

  • Psychiatric/behavioral health experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care for students, including addressing medical emergencies and general medical needs.
  • Accurately sort and administer medications, adhering to prescribed schedules and dosages.
  • Respond promptly to reports of pain or illness, conducting thorough assessments of students to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Accompany students to medical appointments and effectively communicate findings to both parents and the Nursing Director.
  • Regularly check and record vital signs and student weights as assigned.
  • Maintain strict accountability by counting and tracking narcotics during each shift.
  • Continuously monitor students for mood, behavior, and affect, documenting findings for reference.
  • Coordinate and facilitate lab draws for students, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Communicate relevant medical information to the Treatment Team and the Psychiatrist, either verbally or in written form.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 medical assistance.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards in all patient-related matters.
  • Complete all activities required to maintain an active and valid nursing license in the State of Utah.
