The Outpatient Nurse is responsible for administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy. This includes the control, counting, and appropriate documentation of onsite medication. The nurse will also educate clients on the use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication-assisted treatment. Additionally, the role involves verifying medication orders with the physician, transcribing physician’s orders, assisting in the admission process, and documenting substance use diagnoses as required.
