Per Diem (PRN) Nurse: LPN or RN (Friday and Saturday 7a-7p)
About The Position
Pyramid Healthcare is hiring a per diem LPN or RN to provide nursing care in its Pittsburgh inpatient behavioral healthcare setting. The organization provides addiction treatment, mental health recovery, and eating disorder treatment services in supportive environments for clients at different stages of recovery. The position is scheduled Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The listed hourly rates, before differentials, are $30–$34 for LPNs and $35–$40 for RNs. Nursing duties include admission assessments, medication administration and education, support for medical providers, and delivery of detox protocols as appropriate. The role uses an active electronic medication administration record (eMAR). Clients are independent with activities of daily living, and the posting notes that the role does not involve catheters, IVs, ports, midlines, blood draws, heavy lifting, or extended periods of standing or walking.
Requirements
- Hold a current LPN or RN license for Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Complete initial nursing assessments with new admissions.
- Administer medications.
- Learn and deliver detox protocols, including COWS and CIWA scales, for appropriate clients according to protocol.
- Provide medication education to clients.
- Coordinate with and support medical providers during initial assessments and medication management appointments.
- Maintain medical equipment in proper working order.
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
