Nurse, Hourly Part Time Flexible Shifts
About The Position
Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty and convenience services in your community, and keep the customer at the centre of everything you do. We are looking for a nurse to take blood samples, assess vaccination status and health status to offer indicated vaccines such as influenza, COVID, pneumococcus, herpes zoster or based on the travel destination. The role also involves offering various services related to hypertension, diabetes or anticoagulant therapy, and providing instruction on the use of different blood glucose or blood pressure devices. The nurse will welcome patients in a professional and caring manner and work with the pharmacy team to develop the service offering.
Requirements
- Be a member of the Ordre des infirmiers et infirmières du Québec
- Hold a DCS or bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Be familiar with the PIQ (Protocole d’immunisation du Québec — Québec immunization protocol) and travel health
Responsibilities
- Take blood samples.
- Assess vaccination status and health status to offer indicated vaccines such as influenza, COVID, pneumococcus, herpes zoster or based on the travel destination.
- Offer various services related to hypertension, diabetes or anticoagulant therapy.
- Provide instruction on the use of different blood glucose or blood pressure devices.
- Welcome patients in a professional and caring manner.
- Work with the pharmacy team to develop the service offering.
- Assess health status and provide appropriate vaccines such as influenza and herpes zoster.
- Identify and offer appropriate vaccines based on the travel destination.
- Offer various services related to hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia and anticoagulant therapy.
- Provide instruction on the use of different devices such as glucometers, blood pressure monitors etc.
