Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate or have passed the G.E.D. equivalency examination.
• Must be licensed, at a minimum, as a Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and must maintain such license during employment.
• Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or obtain certification within the first (1st) month of employment.
• A current Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) license will serve to satisfy this requirement.
• Note: First Aid and/or CPR certification acquired from on-line services ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
• All prospective employees must submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
• The background check will include, but is not limited to, fingerprinting for statewide criminal history records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, national criminal history records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies, and a search of the sexual predator and sexual offender registries of any state in which the prospective employee resided during the immediate preceding 5 years.
