Nurse - LPN/LVN/RN
About The Position
Symetria Recovery is a leading outpatient rehabilitation center in Illinois and Texas, founded on the principles that addiction is a disease, co-occurring mental health conditions require attention, and patients deserve respect. We offer comprehensive substance abuse treatment, specializing in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), within a supportive outpatient environment. Our bundled-service delivery model provides unlimited clinical services, including MAT, psychiatric care, individual and group therapy, extensive nursing care (6 days a week), and ongoing aftercare. We are licensed under the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and administer various FDA-approved medications for addiction, such as Buprenorphine and Methadone.
Requirements
- Must have a current and valid LVN, LPN, or RN license with no restrictions and licensed within the state of Texas.
- 1-year+ experience as an LVN, LPN, or RN required
- Experience dispensing, handling, ordering, and stocking medications
- Full time position (40 hours per week) - Monday-Friday 5:30am-2pm and alternating Saturday mornings (6:30am-9am). Hours may vary per clinic.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working as an LVN, LPN, or RN in a substance abuse treatment (preferably MAT) or behavioral health setting preferred
- Experience using KIPU or other EMR
- Knowledge of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders preferred
- Knowledge of recovery process and terminology preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide a leading role in treatment decisions by working closely with the Director of Nursing, Medical Provider, clinical staff, and Program Director.
- Responsible for dispensing medications and ensuring the appropriate medical care is administered for patients in recovery.
- Daily interactions with patients to provide support while assisting to improve their health and well-being.
- Monitors patient’s vital signs for dose changes and other physical health information, maintains accurate records reflecting data, including general information relating to treatment results.
- Collects blood samples from patients and monitors and attends to the physical needs of the patient.
- Administers injectable medications, ensuring accurate prescribed dosage and timely delivery, educating clients in management of side effects, and obtaining pre-authorization of prescriptions/medications from pharmacy, when needed.
- Administers and reads PPD, pregnancy tests, tuberculosis screening tests, and drug screens on patients and documents results.
- Maintains accurate inventory counts of all medicines and medical supplies and ensures adequate replacements are ordered on a timely basis, as well as reconciling inventory of Methadone, Suboxone, and Subutex and any other medications at conclusion of dosing.
- Follows all Symetria policies, state regulations, federal guidelines, and DEA regulations.
