About The Position

Nashua Center of Nashua, NH is looking for a Part-Time Nurse Trainer to provide support, direction, guidance, and quality assurance to employees and in-home care providers who are supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This position will be responsible for helping to ensure the health and safety of clients who are served by Nashua Center. (approximately 40 hours per month with potential for more). This position will be a hybrid of remote and in-person responsibilities with a great deal of flexibility in work schedule. Must be people-oriented and interested in working with teams to ensure quality supports and communication. Must be willing to drive a 30-mile radius to support the caseload. Will need to undergo a criminal background check, a driving record check and DCYF check.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year of experience as an RN
  • Eligible to serve as a Nurse Trainer under New Hampshire regulations
  • Not under disciplinary action pursuant to RSA 326-B:37, III
  • Completion of the required 6-hour New Hampshire Nurse Trainer orientation program

Responsibilities

  • Train and support employees and contractors on medication administration, healthcare coordination, diagnoses and treatments, and health and safety practices.
  • Provide both in-person and virtual training.
  • Complete medication administration authorizations and reauthorizations.
  • Conduct medication occurrence reporting and follow-up.
  • Complete biannual He-M 1201 Medication Occurrence Reports.
  • Support medication self-administration programs.
  • Ensure compliance with He-M 1201 Healthcare Coordination and Medication Administration regulations.
  • Conduct quality assurance visits to certified community residences.
  • Complete required Nurse Trainer documentation within state-mandated timeframes.
  • Perform medical quality assurance reviews.
  • Maintain an assigned caseload.
  • Conduct required 5-day and 30-day nurse visits.
  • Monitor client health and safety needs.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for documentation, filing, and communication.
  • Provide on-call coverage for the Nurse Trainer Manager as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
