About The Position

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the Nurse Technician assists in individualized patient care to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. The role works cooperatively with others as part of a team and recognizes the importance of group goals. The Nurse Technician performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing patient care.

This program is for nursing students. A student who leaves their nursing program for any reason can no longer work as a Nurse Technician. The Nurse Technician must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Enrollment in a board-certified nursing program.
• Before employment, provide student transcripts showing completion of Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Before employment, provide a competency skills list from the learning institution.
• Remain in good standing with the school of nursing while in the role.
• Obtain BLS certification within one month of hire.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• EMT, Paramedic, or previous patient care experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) certification in the State of Oklahoma.
