About The Position

The Nurse Tech Program at MultiCare offers a paid position for students enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program who have completed at least one academic term with a clinical component, or for individuals who have completed their RN course of study and are awaiting NCLEX results. This program is designed to support and accelerate the skills learned in nursing school. MultiCare provides career planning, opportunities to experience various work settings through rotations in different hospital areas based on interest and unit availability, and educational opportunities to advance career paths. Upon graduation, candidates are encouraged to apply for the MultiCare RN Transition to Practice Residency program. Hiring is continuous, with new positions opening every two weeks. MultiCare is a nicotine-free campus, and employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background check and drug screen.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a student in an accredited school preparing persons to practice as a Registered Nurse and completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component /OR Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Nursing Technician Registered credential.
  • Documentation of current clinical competencies from completed Nursing School coursework.
  • Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital specific and float about every 18 weeks between units in which accept Nurse Techs.
  • Opportunity to work between 6, 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts during the school year, based on availability. One shift per week required.

  • Upon graduation of Nursing School, candidate is encouraged to apply for RN Transition to Practice Residency positions at MultiCare.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care applying current health concepts and performing routine duties to the level of academic competence accomplished in the individual’s educational program(s) under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Contribute to the assigned unit nursing team, functioning as a member of the unit.
  • Remain abreast of current trends/information in nursing and applies this knowledge/information to practice.
  • Attend required unit meetings/classes.
  • Apply knowledge, judgment, and skills based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences.
