About The Position

The Nurse Tech is a team member responsible for delivering quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. This role involves performing basic patient care skills according to department guidelines, communicating observations to the healthcare team, and collecting/reporting patient and family needs. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, checking blood sugars, assisting with bed baths, ambulating patients, wound care, catheterization, and acting as a safety attendant. Accurate and timely documentation is also a crucial part of this role.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Work Equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

• Utilization of the NIHSS Stroke Scale

Responsibilities

• Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.
• Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
• Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
• Taking vitals
• Checking blood sugars
• Bed bathing
• Ambulating
• Wound care
• Catheterization
• Acting as a safety attendant for patients.
• Ensures that the required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
