Nurse Tech Cardiac Care Unit
About The Position
6 North is a Cardiovascular inpatient unit within Butterworth Hospital that specializes in caring for adult patients with Heart Failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, newly implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac conditions requiring medical treatment. Most patients receive continuous telemetry monitoring. The culture of this unit is teamwork and support. Staff works closely with physicians and other healthcare providers and services to provide optimal care in the inpatient setting. Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The Nursing Technician role is a fast-paced role requiring strong communication and teamwork skills, regardless of the department you are working in. This is a direct patient care role, and duties will include rounding to care for up to 12 patients per shift, Checking Blood Sugar, Wound Care/dressing changes, Bed bathing, Toileting, Ambulating, Catheterization, and acting as safety attendant for patients as needed. Additionally, you could be involved in Postmortem care. Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Required within 90 days

- Bedside patient care experience is preferred
