About The Position

The Nurse Tech acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. As a nurse tech on the unit, you will provide patient care which can include taking vital signs, transportation, collaborating with the RN, blood sugar checks, ADLs and more. Nurse techs also get the unique experience of working in the nursery where they care for newborns. Nurse techs will learn to take baby vitals, assist with circumcisions, do different required testing for newborns which includes hearing screen and car seat testing, performing blood sugars and some lab collections.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• 1-2 years of direct patient care experience is strongly preferred
• Flexibility with weekday availability is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care which can include taking vital signs, transportation, collaborating with the RN, blood sugar checks, ADLs and more.
• Care for newborns, including taking baby vitals, assisting with circumcisions, performing required testing for newborns (hearing screen and car seat testing), performing blood sugars and some lab collections.
• Communicate observations to members of the health care team.
