About The Position

As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, you provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. You perform basic nursing skills, observe patients, and communicate those observations to other members of the care team. The role supports safe, quality, cost-effective care for patients and their families in the Emergency Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross, required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patients’ and families’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs in coordination with, and as directed by, the RN or Provider.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Provide direct patient care under the direction of the RN or Provider, following clinical policies, procedures, and department standard work.
• Provide input into the development of individualized plans of care.
• Explain the nursing technician role to patients, families, and health team members.
• Support the delivery of safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
• Clean patients’ environments, work areas, and equipment, and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate department or unit personnel.
• Demonstrate high moral and ethical standards.
• Advocate for the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organizational data.
