The Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14 bed Intensive care in the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth hospital. The Neuro ICU is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center, and it is West Michigan’s largest stroke center. We specialize in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions. These conditions include Hemorrhagic stroke, Ischemic stroke, seizures, and Hydrocephalus with critical care needs. This team has developed a culture of collaboration, kindness, teamwork, and learning. Nurses stay because they love the people they work with and in turn, have a very low turnover rate. Orientation for our ICU's begins in cohorts once per month and will start out with 3 weekday classes from 8am-4:30pm during week 1. It will also include 2 additional classes within the first month, along with several hands on training shifts for 8-11 weeks.
