Nurse Tech Cardiac Care Unit
About The Position
This position is on the 6 North unit, a 38-bed Cardiovascular unit specializing in adult patients with Heart Failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, newly implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiac conditions requiring medical treatment. Most patients receive continuous telemetry monitoring. Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization, and acting as a safety attendant for patients. The role involves articulating the nursing technician role to the patient, family, and health team members, and providing support to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner. Additionally, the Nurse Tech is responsible for cleaning the patient’s environment, work area, and equipment, and communicating any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel. A high standard of moral and ethical behavior is expected, advocating for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organization data.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Within 90 Days
