About The Position
Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients. Performs routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients; ambulating, moving and turning patients; assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices; making patient beds and caring for personal property. Assists in performing additional nursing procedures such as catheterizations, suctioning, irrigating colostomies, applying restraints, giving enemas, douches and sitz baths or pericare. Will care for multiple patients with a variety of diagnoses, but a focus on neuroscience patients. Some fall risk patients. Have to continually monitor them and be quick to proactively get to their bedside to assist. Patients may have underlining conditions, dementia, confusion, behavioral health and mental health concerns.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
