About The Position

Tower 8 (Surgical Acute) is a 30-bed, Medical-Surgical-Telemetry unit at St. Joseph's Hospital, primarily focused on caring for post-surgical patients. The unit specializes in patients who have undergone trauma, general, and orthopedic surgery, as well as kidney and liver transplants and hepatobiliary surgery. It is a fast-paced environment that values learning, skill development, collaboration, and a teamwork. It is both dynamic and rewarding. We have many certified nurses, excellent preceptors, and incredibly supportive, tenured charge nurses. It is a great unit to learn, grow, and thrive. As our Nurse on the Surgical Acute unit, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others - with a patient-first mindset. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • AZ RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • BSN
  • Professional certification in area of specialty
  • One year recent acute care experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging
