As a Surgery Nurse, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide exceptional nursing care in the operating room. Your role involves delivering comprehensive, safe, and effective evidence-based nursing care, organizing and prioritizing patient care activities, and acting as a patient advocate. You will utilize holistic care practices, adapt to changing patient conditions, engage with new technology, and participate in process and quality improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment. Self-scheduling and in-house anesthesia support your focus on patient healing and outcomes. Success in this role requires exceptional communication, ethical accountability, critical thinking, multidisciplinary collaboration, workload management, and negotiation and conflict management skills, all while supporting the organization's strategic plan and performance improvement in a dynamic Perioperative nursing environment where innovation and patient safety are paramount.

Requirements

  • Diploma, ADN or Foreign Equivalent
  • One (1) year medical/surgical, intensive care or telemetry experience
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association BLS

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures
  • Provide exceptional nursing care in the operating room
  • Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care

  • Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
  • Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
