About The Position

This job involves creating patient plans of care, providing and managing care to individuals and cohorts of patients within a unit. It includes designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions by coordinating, delegating, and supervising the care provided by the healthcare team, including licensed nurses, patient care technicians, and other health professionals. The role also facilitates effective and efficient discharge planning. The Nurse Supervisor serves as a significant communication link between the Unit Director, staff, patients, and physicians. They act as a resource for staff in patient care assessment and in the planning and evaluation of nursing interventions. The role facilitates problem resolution and collaborates with the Unit Director and other supervisory staff in assessing the quality of care, identifying staff strengths and weaknesses, and evaluating staff performance. Additionally, the Nurse Supervisor acts as a liaison between staff and Clinical Nurse Specialists or other nursing resources, and assumes responsibility for the cost-effective and efficient use of human, environmental, and material resources.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse diploma
  • Current RN License in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • 2 years relevant experience working in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
