About The Position

Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida Tennessee and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. Requirements

  • Must have valid Driver’s License.
  • Meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program(s) they lead.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Registered nurse license must be in good standing with NC Board of Nursing.
  • Verified 3 years of work experience as a high performing individual contributor in a related field.
  • Exposure to leadership/management experiences either through short term project management, coordination, training or actual leadership positions.
  • Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in pediatrics or psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive coaching and feedback to ensure professional development and growth of direct reports.
  • Setting programmatic objectives, defining roles, and prioritizing tasks for direct reports.
  • Effective proactive communication in all directions (up, down, sideways) to ensure program needs are met.
  • Recruit, interview and selection of top tier talent for their program staff.
  • Conduct thorough and well-documented assessments of direct reports performance.
  • Proactively address performance issues and replace team members who consistently fall short of delivering on their objectives.
  • Create an open and trusting environment where teamwork and collaboration is valued.
  • Compliance with the agency Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process to ensure program data and outcome goals are met.
  • Ensure internal and external standards are met regarding records, documentation and general services provided.
  • Coordinate and liaison with internal and external stakeholders to represent the program and its needs.
  • Act as a role model across the organization for other staff regarding professionalism, positivity and teamwork.
  • Respond and address to any client/parent/guardian medical complains/concerns.
  • Serves as point of contact for proactive communications with the Medical Director.
  • Coordinate with internal and external medical stakeholders to address member specific needs.
  • Support and coordinate treatment team meetings and medical rounds for the Psychiatric staff as needed.
  • Manage the nursing schedule so that there is 24/7 nursing coverage of PRTF facilities, and or sufficient daily coverage for Crisis Stabilization programs.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate medication administration training for direct care and nursing staff.
  • Monitor compliance with medication administration procedures, MAR and Med Order documentation, and medication storage.
