Our Beaverton Recovery Center (BRC) is a leading-edge facility providing critical services to individuals at some of their most vulnerable moments. We’re looking for a Nurse Supervisor – Sobering to lead a team delivering immediate, compassionate care to individuals experiencing acute intoxication—while helping shape the future of sobering services in our community. About the Role As the Sobering Nurse Supervisor, you’ll combine clinical expertise with leadership—guiding a team of nurses while ensuring safe, effective care for individuals experiencing acute intoxication. You’ll partner closely with the BRC Nurse Manager and Medical Director to ensure quality, compliance, and strong patient outcomes—while helping your team grow in skill, confidence, and clinical judgment. This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to respond quickly, lead clearly, and think clinically makes a real difference every shift.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered RN license (Oregon)
  • Nursing degree (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent program)
  • BLS Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Crisis Prevention Training (within 90 days)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated progression into leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient safety
  • Experience or familiarity with behavioral health approaches such as: Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead through complex situations

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Sobering nursing staff
  • Provide real-time clinical guidance and performance feedback
  • Conduct evaluations, support hiring, and address performance concerns
  • Build a strong, safe, and accountable team culture
  • Perform and oversee nursing assessments, monitoring, and re-evaluation
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate transfers to higher levels of care
  • Ensure trauma-informed, harm reduction, and evidence-based approaches
  • Oversee diagnostics including vital signs and breathalyzer monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with CODA policies, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and protocol development
  • Monitor and report performance metrics with BRC leadership
  • Coordinate with Certified Recovery Mentors and clinical teams for referrals and discharge
  • Schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage, including on-call coordination
  • Support protocol, workflow, and documentation improvements
  • Escalate incidents and partner with leadership on solutions
