About The Position

The Nurse Supervisor is a licensed registered nurse (RN) who works in a collaborative environment at St Mary and is accountable for leading, managing & advancing people, processes & / support direct or indirect patient care. The Nurse Supervisor promotes & advocates for patients, nurses / colleagues & the practice of nursing as defined by clinical area (s) of expertise & assignment. This is a frontline, department-based role, supporting direct or indirect healthcare department/program. The Nurse Supervisor formally/informally supervises daily functions of charge nurses, professional & frontline staff (multidisciplinary team) of assigned department. They may be accountable for staff coordination, scheduling, assignment, or throughput, and may participate in the performance management/review process. The role contributes to the daily performance, adherence to regulatory requirements, and drives team results within the assigned department, implementing departmental plans and priorities identified by accountable nurse leaders.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license by Pennsylvania Board of Nursing or Compact State.
  • Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Prior leadership experience and/or other experience/licensure/certifications aligned with area of responsibility and assignment.

Responsibilities
