About The Position

The primary purpose of the Nurse Supervisor is to provide professional nursing service to JFK-ADATC patients. The Nursing Supervisor is an integral part of the Nursing Department and assumes responsibility for the nursing needs of the patients across an entire shift. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for all work performed. The Nursing Supervisor stays within the guidelines of the NC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, Medical and Nursing Policy and Procedures and the regulations and standards set forth by the State, CMS, and JCAHO. The Nursing Supervisor administratively and clinically supervises nursing staff personnel. They must work with management to oversee the daily functioning of the facility by assuring adequate staffing coverage and directing staff as they perform their duties.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • Two years of nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of those medications.
  • Proficiency in leading a team; skilled in delegation and making assignments.
  • Effectively communicate information to patients, families, and staff in a concise and descriptive manner, verbally, in writing or by demonstration.

  • Proficiency to guide and counsel subordinate staff and provide feedback and advice/counsel to nursing staff on care rendered to patients.
  • Effectively teaching nursing staff through orientation and on the job training.
