About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Nurse Supervisor – ADON for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY. This role involves assuming 24-hour administrative responsibility for nursing activities across pediatric departments, ensuring staffing levels align with patient acuity. The position requires leading recruitment, orientation, and ongoing competency training for Registered Nurses and ancillary staff within NICU, PICU, and General Pediatrics. Responsibilities also include conducting regular clinical rounds and chart audits to maintain readiness for DOH, CMS, and Joint Commission (TJC) surveys, collaborating on Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives to reduce neonatal and pediatric morbidity and improve patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of dignity and cultural competence. The role requires addressing family concerns in real-time within a high-volume urban setting and ensuring operational excellence and delivery of high-quality patient care across all pediatric service lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in high-acuity pediatric or neonatal settings (NICU/PICU)
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or nursing leadership role
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
  • Active AHA BLS Certification (Required)
  • Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification (Required)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree (MSN or Healthcare Administration) strongly preferred
  • Expertise in high-risk neonatal protocols, pediatric critical care, and interdisciplinary care coordination
