This role provides general nursing care for adolescent, young adult and adult patients, ensuring efficient patient flow through the clinic and providing phone consultation with patients. The nurse may triage patients based on the complaint and clinician availability. Under the instruction of a medical doctor, they perform certain laboratory tests, administer medications, provide wound care, maintain emergency carts, start IVs, manage medical supplies, and organize/re-stock treatment rooms and labs. They may also administer immunizations, determine student eligibility for class registration, and coordinate or assist with special immunization campaigns. The role involves identifying patient problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes, and maintaining complete and accurate patient documentation. Additionally, the nurse prepares charts for new patients, identifies and responds to patient educational needs, and may supervise staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
Two years of recent (within the past five years) nursing experience in an outpatient setting.
Completion of a physical assessment course or experience conducting physical assessments.

Responsibilities

May administer immunizations and determine whether or not a student is eligible to register for classes.
Coordinates or assists with special immunization campaigns.
Identifies patient problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
Reviews and maintains complete and accurate documentation related to the admission, care, transfer or discharge of the patient.
Prepares charts for new patients.
Identifies and responds to patient educational needs.
May supervise staff.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
