About The Position

As our Discharge Lounge Nurse Shift Manager / Throughput Coordinator, you will help the hospital and its patients improve efficiency and flow so they can experience optimized care, reduced length of stay, and better resource utilization. Every day you will provide leadership and oversight for critical areas like the Discharge Lounge. You will be expected to actively participate in bed management meetings, deliver essential education and training to nursing departments to decrease length of stay, and effectively liaise with staff to encourage timely discharges and facilitate seamless patient throughput. To be successful in this role you must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of hospital operations and patient flow dynamics. Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level. Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them. Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Strong computer knowledge, specifically Google Office Space

Nice To Haves

  • Current Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field preferred
  • Completion of Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related field within three (3) years of hire
