About The Position
Covenant Living, a nonprofit senior living provider, is seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) to join their team. The role involves ensuring quality care through staff performance monitoring, physician contact, care planning, and resident assessment, as well as providing direct care. This position operates according to nursing standards, procedures, and state/federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities. The specific part-time shift includes Friday 7:30 AM-7:00 PM, Monday 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, and Wednesday 7:30 AM-7:00 PM. The organization emphasizes teamwork, respect, and service in a supportive, faith-based community.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State.
- One year nursing experience.
- Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
- Skill in assessing problems, planning and evaluating solutions.
- Understanding, patience and tact in dealing with people.
- Tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English).
- Genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled.
- Good human relation skills and the ability to monitor and direct the activities of others.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of LPNs and nursing assistants.
- Assist in the orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards.
- Assist in motivating LPNs and CNAs assigned to the nursing unit.
- Provide explanation of nursing procedures and assistance to staff.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding assessments, observations, and concerns.
- Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental and emotional conditions and communicate significant changes.
- Notify the physician and family members when indicated according to prescribed procedures.
- Provide direct care to residents.
