About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the healthcare industry, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. Your primary objective will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to promote patient health and well-being. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans and ensure continuity of care. The hourly rate will commensurate with nursing experience, education, and specialty related certifications.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of nursing principles, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • The required skills enable the nurse to perform thorough patient assessments, administer treatments safely, and document care accurately, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery.
  • Critical thinking and clinical judgment are applied daily to respond to patient needs and emergencies promptly.

Nice To Haves

  • Hematology-Oncology Infusion experience.
  • Oncology Certifications (ONS/OCNN or OCN).
  • Experience working in specialized units.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with experience in patient education or mentoring.
  • Advanced certifications and familiarity with EHR systems enhance the nurse's ability to manage complex cases and utilize technology efficiently.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills support mentoring junior staff and fostering a supportive care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather medical histories and current health status.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with legal and institutional standards.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • May be required to mix chemotherapy medication (for Oncology only).
