About The Position
Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) is seeking a compassionate and skilled per-diem Registered Nurse to provide nursing services and medically monitor clients in their substance abuse Detox facility. This role is vital in supporting individuals through a critical step in their recovery journey. SCADD is an award-winning leader in substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment in Southeastern Connecticut.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing or a related health care field; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current State of Connecticut Department of Public Health Registered Nurse License required
- CPR Certification required
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, external health care providers, clients, and families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and group settings
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize critical tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- Perform initial nursing assessments and document ongoing client assessments in response to treatment
- Perform client admissions
- Develop, implement, record, and evaluate nursing care plans according to the age and specific needs of each client
- Participate in and supervise nursing care, providing direct physical care measures as needed
- Act as a primary nurse, working with individual clients and coordinating their treatment
- Execute the medical regimen of care as prescribed by the physician
- Educate clients and families toward an understanding of health, illness, and plans for post-discharge care
- Respond to medical and psychiatric emergency needs of clients
- Participate in the orientation of new employees and the transfer of knowledge necessary for the performance of duties

- $42.55 with shift premiums plus weekend premiums
