About The Position

The Registered Professional Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care by assessing patient needs, identifying actual and potential health concerns, implementing appropriate nursing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes. The position is in 8 East Oncology in Gainesville, Florida, and is full-time at .9 FTE.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
• Nurses hired without a BSN must obtain a BSN within three years of hire.
• Nurses hired without a professional nursing board certification must obtain certification after two years of hire, or once eligible for certifications requiring more than two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and identifies actual and potential health concerns.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing interventions and plans of care.
• Involves patients, families, and significant others in assessment, planning, care, and evaluation whenever possible.
• Supervises and directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
• Assigns and delegates patient care to qualified members of the healthcare team.
• Coordinates patient care with other healthcare professionals and disciplines.
• Participates in unit-based activities that promote a positive and professional work environment.
• Provides compassionate, accountable nursing care focused on patient advocacy, collaboration, and optimal patient outcomes.
