Nurse RN or LPN Day Shift Full Time Rotating Weekends- Lower Bucks
About The Position
We are seeking dedicated and caring nurses (RN or LPN) to step away from bedside care into a rewarding role working directly with clients being treated for substance use disorders and mental health stabilization. While this is not a medical-surgical, ICU, or critical care position, our clients are in critical need, requiring excellent nurses who can critically think, follow policy and procedures, and work as part of a team. Gaudenzia's Mission is to promote long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions, regardless of individual circumstances.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
- Must have good standing license (LPN or RN) valid in the state in which clinical will practice.
- Must also possess current CPR Certification.
- Fast learners, confident, and can successfully meet the required expectations for this position.
- LPN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience.
- LPN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
- LPN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
- RN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience.
- RN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
- RN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
Nice To Haves
- PRN positions - 3 shifts per month are required.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation.
- Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests.
- Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation.
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy.
- Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
- Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment.
- Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
- Assist in the facilitation of special events, including, but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events.
- Implement health seminars, including, but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
- Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
- Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
- Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
- Maintain LPN/RN license with good standing.
- Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee.
