About The Position
Join our mission to help individuals with mental illness and addictions to lead healthy and productive lives. Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) has an immediate opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in our medication assisted treatment program to provide nursing services to adults experiencing substance use disorder in Batavia. Working in our outpatient, clinic-style setting also means less physical demand, with fewer heavy lifts and less time on your feet compared to hospital nursing—promoting comfort, balance, and long-term career wellness. New nurse? No worries! No prior experience is required. Our wonderful team of nurses will provide all the training and support you need to feel confident, capable, and successful in this role.
Requirements
- Licensure by the Ohio Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse is required.
- Selected candidate must be open to training.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in working with individuals who have substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing and established GCB policies, procedures, and protocols in a medication assisted treatment program serving individuals with substance use disorders.
- Follows the steps in the nursing process to implement and monitor a holistic plan of care for behavioral health patients, including patients with substance use disorders. The GCB nurse may serve as a coordinator in collaboration with other disciplines for purposes of coordination of patient care issues.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Perform duties under the direction of the medical prescribers, psychiatric prescribers and/or RN.
- These duties include but are not limited to: vitals, phlebotomy, point-of-care labs and testing, vaccinations and psychiatric medication administration.
- Prepare clients and assist physicians with patient exams and/or treatment; obtain vital signs, draw laboratory specimens.
- Provide education and training to staff, family members and other significant patient supports related to illness, disease, and medications.
