About The Position

We are seeking dedicated and caring nurses for a rewarding role away from the bedside, directly supporting clients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders and mental health stabilization. This position requires critical thinking, adherence to policies and procedures, and strong teamwork. While not a medical-surgical, ICU, or critical care role, clients are often in a critical time of need. Gaudenzia's Mission is to promote long-term recovery by providing comprehensive treatment and support to people with substance use disorder, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related conditions, regardless of individual circumstances.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Must have good standing license (LPN or RN) valid in the state in which clinical will practice.
  • Must also possess current CPR Certification.
  • New Grads and Newly Licensed LPNs and RNs are welcomed and encouraged to apply as direct job experience is not a requirement for this position.
  • Fast learners, confident, and able to successfully meet the required expectations for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • LPN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience.
  • LPN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
  • LPN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty
  • RN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation.
  • Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests.
  • Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy.
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
  • Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment.
  • Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
  • Assist in the facilitation of special events, including, but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events.
  • Implement health seminars, including, but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
  • Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed.
  • Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices.
  • Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
  • Maintain LPN/RN license with good standing.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee
