Nurse (RN/LPN) - Acute Care - PRN
About The Position
Glendive Medical Center is seeking dependable Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to join our PRN Acute Care team. As a member of our nursing staff, you'll have the opportunity to care for patients across several specialties while supporting a healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional service to the communities of Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota. PRN nurses provide essential support throughout the hospital, helping maintain high standards of care when additional staffing is needed. This position offers variety, flexibility, and the chance to expand your clinical experience across multiple patient populations. Work areas include ER, ICU, Med/Surg, OB, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, and Transitional Care.
Requirements
- Current Montana RN or LPN license, or compact multistate licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic healthcare environment
- To maintain active PRN status, employees must work: Minimum of five shifts each quarter, At least one weekend shift per quarter, One observed holiday shift annually
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or acute care experience
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and communicate concerns to the healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Assist with care planning and documentation
- Support patients and families through education and communication
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and nursing colleagues to promote positive outcomes
- Contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-focused environment
- LPNs practice under the supervision of an RN
