About The Position

The 2026 Fall Nurse Resident Program at Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is designed to support new graduate nurses and those transitioning into a specialty area. This year-long program bridges the gap between academic and professional practice for nurses with less than one year of experience. It includes 12 weeks of weekly clinical classes and hands-on experience with a unit-based preceptor, followed by monthly sessions focused on peer support and professional development topics like problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. The program aims to equip future nurses with the necessary tools and resources for success.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a board-approved program.
  • Completion of all clinical rotations and eligibility to sit for the RN registration exam (NCLEX).
  • Basic Life Support Certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Availability to work 36 hours a week (Nights), including three 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Ability to attend all mandatory classroom sessions.
  • Less than one year of nursing experience.
