About The Position

This is an exciting 12-month Nurse Residency Program: Float Pool Track designed for Senior Nursing Students, Nurse Graduates, and new RNs with under a year of experience. The program is accredited with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. It integrates educational components with up to 18 weeks of preceptor-led clinical experiences on medical, surgical, and step-down units at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals. The Float Pool supports 40 nursing units with complex diagnoses, providing residents with a strong foundation in diverse, fast-paced environments. Training includes ACLS, dysrhythmia training, and step-down competencies. Upon successful completion, residents will float between Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals on medical, surgical, step-down, and transitional care units. Continued residency meetings occur at months 8, 10, and 12 to foster professional development. An employment agreement requiring two years of commitment, with a minimum of 15 months on the unit of hire, is required upon completion of training, with a $10,000 penalty for non-compliance.

Requirements

  • Graduating from an accredited nursing school (BSN Preferred).
  • BLS required.
  • Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program.
  • Eligible for Delaware license as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse and obtain prior to start date.
  • Must be willing and able to work all shifts (day, evening, and overnight), including weekends and holidays, during and after the residency program.
  • Pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware prior to starting position.
  • Complete a HeyMilo video interview.
  • Complete two clinical instructor references through Skill Survey.

Responsibilities
