About The Position

Collaborate with Nurse Educators, Nursing leadership, Vizient, and Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders (MONL) to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the Nurse Residency program. Collaborate with Human Resources and Nurse Managers to ensure smooth onboarding of new nurse residents. Ensures all marketing and communication efforts are accurate, complete, distributed appropriately and meet program and organizational standards. Responsible for coordinating and facilitating classes, specialized courses, simulations, group sessions, EBP projects, and other activities that constitute the program curriculum. Represents the NRP Program in a professional and competent manner.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing plus at least 2 years of experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, diagnoses and treatment and comfort working with people with acute psychiatric illness.
  • Ability to collect and analyze program data and write progress reports.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, adult learning, evidence-based practice process, and instruction. Computer literate, including use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and various related software applications.
  • In keeping with the Maryland Board of Nursing guidelines, all nurses must have an active Maryland nursing license to practice in the state of Maryland, or must have an active license in a compact state that allows them to practice in Maryland, if they reside in that compact state. A multistate licensee who changes primary state of residence to another party state shall apply for a multistate license in the new party state within 60 days. The rule requires that a nurse apply for a new license in a new primary state of residence within 60 days of relocating, it does not require the new license be issued withing 60 days.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity/expertise with motivational interviewing and experience as a clinical educator strongly preferred.
  • National Certification in Nursing Professional Development, Nursing Education, and/or Behavioral Health preferred.
