Join the H-NNCSB BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center as a part-time Psychiatric Care Registered Nurse (RN) and play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders at the Regional Crisis Stabilization Center (RCSC). In this impactful position, you will collaborate with a staff psychiatrist to assist in the prescription, administration, and monitoring of client medications while performing thorough client assessments. Your responsibilities will include delivering crisis and supportive counseling, analyzing data to determine appropriate medical and nursing care, and planning tailored treatment strategies to meet each client's distinct needs. With a comprehensive understanding of professional nursing principles and psychotropic medication management, you will also coordinate medical services, provide oversight for medication management, and consult with treatment staff on holistic care planning. This role allows you to utilize your expertise while making a significant difference in the lives of those we serve. What you need to be successful To thrive as a part-time Psychiatric Care Registered Nurse (RN) at the H-NNCSB BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center, candidates must possess a robust set of skills and qualifications. The ideal Registered Nurse will have a minimum of one year of behavioral health experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in psychiatric nursing principles and practices. You will need to obtain registration as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) trainee within your first 30 days of employment, indicating your commitment to professional development in mental health. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Board of Nursing is essential, ensuring you meet all regulatory standards for patient care. Additionally, a valid Virginia Driver's License is necessary for coordinating transportation for clients to appointments and services. Strong communication, crisis intervention, and assessment skills are crucial, enabling you to effectively deliver comprehensive care to individuals facing mental health challenges. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Registered Nurse with one year of behavioral health experience. Candidates will register to practice as a QMHP trainee within the first 30 days of employment.
