About The Position

Join a collaborative primary care team providing comprehensive healthcare services to active duty service members, military retirees, and their families at Evans Army Community Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to practice independently within the scope of your privileges while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a military treatment facility.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from a nationally accredited nursing program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Current, full, active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through ANCC, AANP, or another nationally recognized certifying organization
  • Minimum twenty-four (24) months of experience practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner within the past thirty-six (36) months
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS/ALS) certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one prior to employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a military or federal healthcare setting
  • Experience providing family practice or primary care services
  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient education skills
  • Experience using electronic medical records

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide preventive healthcare, wellness counseling, and patient education
  • Coordinate referrals to specialty care as appropriate
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings
