About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and is responsible for assessment planning, delivery and evaluation of health care services to the long term care residents and clients in the multipurpose beds of The Yorkton & District Nursing Home. This is done in collaboration with the family physicians, other health care providers, community organizations and programs and the resident and their family. Requirements

  • 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Master of Nurse Practitioner is acceptable
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)
  • Advanced - Analytical skills

  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care
  • Ability to be self directed and work relatively independently

  • Ability to adapt to and implement change
  • Demonstrates capacity to plan, implement and evaluate multiple assessments
  • Enhanced knowledge of clinical assessment
  • Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN(NP) role
  • Enhanced knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses
  • Demonstrates knowledge of multiple health promotion strategies
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
