About The Position

This position is for a Nurse Practitioner at Lane Family Practice, working on a PRN (as needed) basis. The role involves a wide range of patient care duties, from initial assessment and diagnosis to treatment, counseling, and follow-up care. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner.
  • Ability to obtain patient history and perform physical examinations.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating acute health problems.
  • Skill in providing counseling and education to patients.
  • Ability to prescribe medications and other treatments.
  • Competence in ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies (lab work, x-rays).
  • Experience in providing well-child care, including screening and immunizations.
  • Experience in providing health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals.
  • Ability to make appropriate referrals.
  • Skill in patient phone assessments, triage, and disposition.
  • Ability to perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
  • Strong collaboration skills with physicians and other health care professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and maintaining quality control standards.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to policies and procedures of the clinic and Lane Regional Medical Center.
  • Familiarity with standards, rulings, and regulations of The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Department of Health and Human Services, Board of Medical Examiners, and other governmental agencies.
  • Ability to perform Quality Improvement Chart Audits.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient history and performs physical examinations. Documents pertinent information in patient charts.
  • Diagnose and treat acute health problems.
  • Provides counseling and education to meet patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments.
  • Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies such as lab work and x-rays.
  • Provide well-child care, including screening and immunizations.
  • Provide health maintenance care of adults, including annual physicals.
  • Makes appropriate referrals.
  • Assists with patient phone assessments, triage and disposition.
  • Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals as needed.
  • Participates in continues quality improvement. Maintains quality control standards.
  • Complies with the policies and procedures established by the clinic and by Lane Regional Medical Center.
  • Performs Quality Improvement Chart Audits.
  • Insuring that all professional services provided are performed according to all standards, ruling or regulations of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Department of Health and Human services, the Board of Medical Examiners, or and other federal, state or local governmental agency, corporate entity, or individual excision authority with respect to the Lane Regional Medical Center Organization.
