About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for making psychiatric assessments and evaluations of clients (children 6+, adults, and SUD) through face-to-face interactions and telemedicine. This role involves prescribing medication to manage mental health symptoms, reviewing and approving individualized service plans, and completing necessary paperwork such as SSI and school forms in a timely manner. The position also includes providing emergency psychiatric services, including on-call coverage 24 hours a day as needed, and consulting with program directors and staff on clients, programs, and services across various sites. Collaboration with the Agency Pediatrician is essential for consistent quality care. In situations of need, the Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner may be assigned additional duties by the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Licensed Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • 3+ years relevant experience

  • Ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment
  • Flexible; able to work days, evenings, and/or weekends, as desired to meet the needs of clients

  • Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
  • Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records, etc.
  • Must be able to access work locations, offices, and homes as necessary, which may include ascending/descending stairs.
  • Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including drug tests, background checks, and any other required assessments, such as a physical examination and TB test
  • English reading and writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and supervisory skills
  • Computer skills a must
  • Interacts verbally with clients, families, co-workers, and representatives from outside agencies
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Maintain 65% productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Make Psychiatric assessment and evaluation of clients both face to face and through telemedicine for children 6+, adults and SUD
  • Prescribe medication in an effort to reduce mental health symptoms when needed.
  • Review and approve individualized service plans and other needed assessment forms.
  • Complete requested paperwork such as SSI forms, school forms, etc in a timely fashion.
  • Provide emergency psychiatric services, including emergency coverage as needed 24 hours a day on call.
  • Consult with individual program directors and staff on clients, programs and services at the various sites.
  • Collaborate with the Agency Pediatrician to provide consistent quality care.
  • Complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by the Leadership team including the President and CEO, the Vice Presidents and the Director of Integrated Care.
