About The Position

Advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. Nurse blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions patients. Position practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. Practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. Provides clinical assessment and treatment strategies that reflect in-depth knowledge of the care populations. Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale certificate (CTAS)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
  • Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
  • Demonstrate ability to use computers and associated equipment
  • Knowledge in critical thinking processes
  • Demonstrate ability to use various clinical and diagnostic machines
  • Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
  • Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care
  • Ability to provide holistic care to individuals, families & the community
  • Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
