This position functions in an expanded role within an interdisciplinary practice model, focusing on comprehensive, patient-centered care for children and adolescents in an outpatient setting. The role involves managing care for patients with asthma, ADHD, bariatric/healthy lifestyle programs, and oncology. The Nurse Practitioner will practice autonomously, offering the full scope of their practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and relevant legislation. They will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide services in pediatric outpatient clinics, including urgent consults and primary care. The role requires assessing and diagnosing health conditions, communicating findings to patients and families, and managing acute and chronic illnesses within a holistic model of care. Responsibilities also include counseling clients, developing professional relationships, assessing population health trends, and participating in education, training, and research related to healthcare and NP programs. The position involves leadership in developing and implementing health promotion and illness prevention strategies, and contributing to the evaluation of patient care and satisfaction.
