About The Position

The Health Services Nurse Practitioner functions as an active member of the Boston College University Health Services team. University Health Services has approximately 150 outpatient visits per day primarily including undergraduates and graduates. In addition to the Outpatient Unit there is a 10-bed infirmary unit which provides overnight nurse monitoring for those students requiring observation. The temporary Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing episodic, continuing care and health education for the student population including student athletes. In addition to the office practice, responsibilities may include weekend coverage.

Requirements

  • Licensed with the State of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing with authorization to practice in the expanded role as Nurse Practitioner
  • Master’s Degree required in Nursing
  • American Nurses Association Certification in Adult Health
  • Certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Board of Registration in Nursing with authorization to practice in the expanded role as a nurse practitioner
  • Current authority for prescription writing
  • Electronic Medical Record experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working and communicating effectively with diverse populations and creating inclusive and belonging work environments.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a university setting is preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating health services and liaising with other health care professionals.

Responsibilities
