We are committed to our team and our team is committed to our clients! We are seeking a PRN Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Des Moines, IA! Our facility has easy access to major transportation arteries, such as University Ave, and I-235, I-35/I-80, downtown Des Moines and the Des Moines International Airport.
Requirements
- Position requires an active NP license within the state of Iowa and a minimum of three years’ experience within a behavioral healthcare setting, experience treating mental health services, strongly preferred.
- Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.
- Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.
- Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conducts all Psychiatric Evaluations and ensures medical necessity for all individuals enrolled in the PHP.
- Provides medication management services for individuals enrolled in PHP as needed.
- Available on-site at least weekly and by telephone in unusual or urgent situations related to medication.
- Provides consultation, education and related information to patients and the families, if involved, to increase success of treatment and program engagement.
- Directs and collaborates with staff on clinical activities and interventions.
- Completes medical record and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner as needed to meet clinical, payer and other requirements.
- Perform other activities as requested by the Director and assume other appropriate medical responsibilities as necessary.
